Desktop Computer Packages

I need a Desktop Computer, But the on line Dell Precision 690 Mini-Tower w Dual Core costs a whopping $4500?

Any suggestions for a high quality computer that is reliable with North American Tech support The rep told me that the Precision is more expensive than the Vostro, because it's components are of higher quality. (Is that true) This $4500 Precision 690 comes with Xeon Processor 5130 with 2 Gz, 4MB L2 Cache 1333Mhz Memory 4GB, DDRE ECC SDRAM Memory 667Mhz, 4 X 1 GB and 2 Hard drives, RAID 1 it comes with Windows XP Pro and Microsoft Office Professional and a 4 year gold warranty for N. American Based Tech support. But I do not get a hard copy of the Operating system or software. I will be using the computer for Trading Futures, and CAD drawing, Photoshop, and Illustrator and a library of photos and videos. My problem with this unit is that it costs $4500, and it seems too expensive. Plus when I speak to their phone sales reps, they can bring it down a few bucks, but cannot tell me who makes the parts, so I do not know if I am getting high quality parts. I will not be using it for Gaming.

  3. Gaming or not the cheapest way to buy your own computer is to build one yourself. It's really very simple. Anyone with a bit of tech savy can do it. It really just is connecting the wires of the same color and putting things in the right place(the circle thingy goes in the circle hole). If your worried about warranty then buy your parts off of newegg or maybe amazon. you will get warranty for all the parts you use so if somethign goes wrong you can return everything.
  4.
