- Yes, but to be sure go to the Dell website and look for your model there, they should have a button that will help you. If not check out Crucial, they have a good scanner... http://www.crucial.com
- The best thing you can do for compatibility is to buy the same brand of ram you currently have. If you have Kingston DDR get Kingston DDR if its DDR2 do the same. You would need to open your computer and see if you have a single 512 chip currently with an open slot for another and combined you would have 1024 megs or one gigabyte. The same if you have 1 gigabyte and would like to upgrade to 2 gigabytes. Installation is easy just make sure the system is off and unplugged first and touch a non-painted metal surface or ground before proceeding. I have seen 2 Gigabytes of ram for as low as 39.99 at Fry's electronics but usually after rebate so shop around if you don't want to deal with mail-in rebates. Good Luck
- Read the FAQ section with the below link >>>Blue writing. It says they don't have to be matched pairs but for optimum performance they recommend it. I would stay with the name brand ram. They usually have lower latency figures and less errors. This link gives all the specs on your system:
- I believe this is PC2700 memory, the following link can give you the type of memory to be used. http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Dimension+2400+Series This Dell computer will be able to take up to 2G of RAM. If the RAM board pin configuration match, you will be able to use the RAM.
