Desktop Computer Packages

I need to buy a new computer ASAP and I cannot decide what would be best for basic computing, itunes and games

I thought about costomizing one from HP or Dell and seem to be leaning toward HP, but I do not know when they are having a "sale" on their desktops. Any information you can provide would be great.

  1. Gateway in my opinion is the best laptop ever! I just got mine in May, what I am using now and I have no complaints what so ever!!! They are amazing! GET A GATEWAY
  2. hp touchscreen desktop pc is the best choice
  3. Probably the open box desktops or get them near august when they are near school season. Would you like laptops too? They go on sale around august. Don't get macs, they're not cheap, although they are great for itunes, games, and basic computing. Good-luck dude!

  6. I've purchased a referbished HP from Fry's for my dad and it's running great. Not only is it a top machine it also comes with the original warranty. Here is a link you should check out. http://www.frys.com/product/5537990 $449.99
  7. Well i recently bought a Dell Pc the Dell Inspiron 530 it's specs are: 2.4 Ghz intel quad core processor (with 8Mb Cache) 4Gb of RAM 500Gb Hard drive 128 Mb graphics card tv tuner 19 in 1 card reader with bluetooth video editing card hd sound all for £600
  8. for gaming i think hp would be the best for sure. get a desktop there cheaper faster and better for gaming. also if it has vista and your in game turn off sidebar slows the computer down like crazy. hope this helps
  9. The better the Processor or CPU whatever you want to call it the better it does for anything. If you really like games get Quadro core with 2.4GH thats real powerful but expensive. A Duo core is less expensive for a duo you need 2.0 GHz or more. Thats still reall good About the Ram memory its good to have at lest 2 GB
  10. Dell and HP are both great brands but if I was buying a new PC right now I would go with a Think Pad. They may look a little dull however they're fantastic machines! http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4028&review=Lenovo+ThinkPad+T61+7664+-+Core+2+Duo+T7700+2.4+GHz+-+14.1 Although it sounds like you're looking for desktops right? Check out www.desktopreview.com for reviews and of course you could always build your own too... Potentially if you buy all the parts separately you not only have exactly the computer you want but you can save a little money. http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Build_a_$150_Linux_PC
  11. Brand doesnt make much differnts aslong as you have heard of it before but specs do CPU at lest 2.0Ghz Hard drive at lest 200Gb Ram at lest 2 Gb Video card that has at the very lest 256mb of ram As long it has that you will be more that covered for what you want to run
