How do i connect and old Ibm computer to my home network?

I have and old ibm laptop running on windows xp and i want to connect it to my home network which already has a pc and a laptop, how do i do this

1. It depends on the network. If it's wireless, you'll need a wireless adaptor that connects to the notebook by USB. If it's wired, you'll need an Ethernet card & a cord.
