What is the Role of a Computer Hardware enggineer ?

I want to know the Job of hardware engg who has done Diploma in Computer Hardware and is employed for Maintainance in a Company.Suppose a motherboard,SMPS,Harddisk,etc is not working then does the person has to repair it himself or should get repaired from outside.Also i would like to know,What is the Average Salary for Hardware Enng in small companies in India?

1. I don't know about saleries,.. but, Yes, a computer hardware engineer has to know their hardware. They design and make hardware, so you will have to have advanced knowledge of circuits because computers are the most complex circuits humans make. If they are maintanance, you would write a report on the problem probably, so you have to find where in the motherboard it is failing, and if you can sauder w/e to fix it yourself. You don't send it to anyone else because you are the hardware engineer other ppl send it to. For saleries, try a google search, soemething like "hardware engineer saleries". :) Good luck if you do go that route it would be a very interesting job to me and in the end you will know all about how computers work (the hardware side at least).

There are levels of Computer hardware engineers if you are related to chip level and can detect damaged quantum sectors of chip , repairing motherboard, Smps and harddisk is too frisky, if the engineer has time he can repair it himself but if he is busy its simple get it done by outside i mean small things like smps and harddisk can be repaired from outside. well there are low income for I.T proffestionals in india around $500 to $1000 it all depends on experience of the engineer
