Where can I find the best desktop computer in the world on sale?

I underline the words "the best" ... Please help me if you can.

1. What do you mean by "the best"? If you mean quality, speed and performance for the best money, you'll likely want to buy a custom PC from either an individual that builds them or a specialized PC store (not a Dell, eMachines, HP, etc.). But if by "best" you mean one with tech support and a warranty, then I'd just go with a Dell or some "box" computer. They're all the same really. I build and sell PC's as a hobby and can tell you that they're far superior in quality and much less expensive than the laim-o "box" computers. Of course, people like me can't offer warrantys or much tech support, so it's a bit of a trade off.
2. Check Tigerdirect.ca or .com (depending on where you live, Canada or USA). They have a Gateway's with an Intel i7-950 computer with 3 GB trichannel RAM DDR3 10666 for about $800. It has a half Terabyte HDD as well. Good HDD at 1 TB go for around $99. You should add 2 for mirroring with RAID 0 configuration. You should consider adding another 6 GB more same type of RAM and a Phillips 23" LCD monitor. The monitor goes for $199. This is a good buy. It has good user rating. Check it out. All in all it will set you back by about $1400. The above is for a gamer. If you are not a gamer, there are Intel Dual Processors with Quad Core HP or Gateway (8GB RAM DDR 2 - 6400) available for about $650 for start. Add additional components then you are looking at around $1000. This is a fast machine too. All have Windows 64-bit operating system. I do not think you can upgrade for free to Windows 7, but you should negotiate this before purchase.
