where can i find the best information regarding computer hardware?
i live in sydney australia. what are some of the best websites and stores that you can build your own pc with the best of the best parts at the cheapest price? i hear people say on forums that they upgrade their pc for around $1,000 or $1,500. they buy the parts and build it themselves.

- http://www.whirlpool.net.au is a great forum to join and read people's comments on hardware. http://msy.com.au/ is one of cheapest places for parts in Sydney.
- I enjoy reading TomsHardware.com as it has very good and thorough reviews of all the latest hardware, along with benchmarks. . NewEgg.com also has a very good Help&Info section.
- Two of the best in the biz are tomshardware.com and anandtech.com. They review hardware. Like someone mentioned, if you go to newegg.com you can read reviews from people who actually bought whatever hardware you're interested in to see how they liked or disliked it. Nice thing about hardware reviews is they will show "test setup"s that not only show, for example, the motherboard they're testing but the exact ram, cpu, video card, etc they're also using in the tests to give you an idea of what is compatible with it.
