AMD - Computer Hardware Question?
I plan on building a computer soon and I picked out an AMD processor (quad 3ghz), on some of the gaming forums that I use, people keep saying that AMD is crap such as "also, AMD? the hell is wrong with you" but nobody explains why. Whats wrong with AMD hardware compared to Intel? I know that AMD is cheaper but I don't think it would be that bad. o.O This is the processor that I picked out. http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=10360BD7705&vpn=HDZ940XCGIBOX&manfuacture=AMD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgOmMAasqto Is this the reason why?

- AMD is a very good company. If you know one of the biggest graphics card companies ATi, they are made by AMD. So answer this is ATi bad? I think that AMD is one of the best and they are just as good as Intell.
- dont listen to those homos Thats even better than the intel quad cre q6600 go with it, it uses all 4 cores and intel only uses 2 Really So go with that one with a compatiable mobo
- Video (on old/oudated platforms) is not real-life situation. It just shows the advantage of Intel's processor throttling when temps go up. In the AMD socket A platform, motherboard manufacturers only implemented auto shutdown at high temp, but not any form of throttling. The reverse of that video could be true for Intel during the infamous "PRES-HOT" (or Prescott) days. Intel grabbed back the performance crown with the more efficient (hi-performance/low wattage) Core 2 technology. Most of the advantages are very clear in various benchmarks. However, in PC gaming, the GPU (of graphics card) play a more prominent role, especially at higher resolution. http://www.guru3d.com/article/cpu-scaling-in-games-with-quad-core-processors/3 http://www.guru3d.com/article/cpu-scaling-in-games-with-quad-core-processors/6 http://www.guru3d.com/article/cpu-scaling-in-games-with-quad-core-processors/9
