Desktop Computer Packages

i7 Computer packages, noob needing help?

Hi Guys/girls Its been years since I've even looked at computers and currently in the market for getting a new one...I've always had something that seems to be sub par to my needs and there is nothing more frustrating then a slow computer to me! My primary uses are general internet, movies, editing (photoshop) and video, and wouldn't mind being able to play some games now and then but not all the time. I have been looking via ebay atm and found some packages and was wondering what anyones thoughts are on these packages? I am looking up to probably $1300 (Australian) budget - will I be able to get something to meet my needs for that price? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/New-Intel-i7-920-4GB-DDR3-500GB-1GB-9500GT-850W_W0QQitemZ270484439286QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_comp_dekstop?hash=item3efa2100f6 Need a computer asap. Old one has croaked....Please keep in mind these prices are in Australian dollars.

  1. I think you should get it. But if you want your computer faster, DOWNGRADE to Windows Xp. It's better and uses only 512 MB ram. So, if you buy that computer, you would have 3.5GB going into a program, which makes it fast. It's really your choice. I'm stuck with Windows Vista because I have about 300GB of stuff and am refusing to restore.
  2. I don't think you should get it. They will release the i9 chips soon and that will make the i7 much cheaper. That rig on ebay is too expensive also.
  3. i think that this website will help you a lot http://corei7-processor-review.blogspot.com/
