- about average......
- pretty good i am amazed thought that it dosent have windows vista?? but it is mainly what you think not what the pros or non pros think it is supposed to fit your needs
- That's not bad. Good processor and ram speed. The video card is acceptable. The hard drive could be bigger, but 320gb is not too bad I guess. Nice that it comes with an extra dvd writer.
- Yes, you have got one hell of a package there. But do you need most of it? If you knew what you were talking about, then you wouldn't be asking this question. Don't waste money on stuff you are never likely to need. Have a look on, eg, eBay. You will pick up something cheap. Ideally you want 512 memory with about 100+gig hard drive and a dvd/cd recorder. A flat-screen monitor helps. But the lot should cost you a hell of a lot less than 2,000 bucks.
- That video card's a joke, and while you're not exactly getting ripped off on that system, it's not really a steal either. So it's about average value for a pre-built comp. You could do better by building it yourself though.
- Not to bad, do you game? If so the video card is low quality, that machine needs a better card in it. If you can swing the cost of an nVidia 8800 do it. Good call on the XP Pro and not Vista, to many problems. Link for graphics card performance. Use drop downs at top to select 2 cards for easy recognition, they are blue. http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html Compare the 7300 GS 512 against a 7600 GT 256. This is just an example, big difference for only about 20.00. Even if you don't game, it would be 20.00 well spent on a new computer. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2935453&CatId=1826 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2928368&CatId=1560
