How much GT do i need to play a intense PC game.?

i have just got my grand spanking new desktop computer , and my first! i am going to use my xbox less now because 1.PC games are cheaper. 2.PC's can have better graphics so how much GT (graphics something ), do i need to play , i don't know Far Cry 2 , or Crisis in really good graphics , and run smoothly ?
