Is it true that you get a discount on buying Macs if your homeschooled?

I've heard that you get a discount on Mac computers if you're homeschooled, is that true? Thanks.

  1. Never heard that But when I bought mine I did get a discount for being in school I had to show them my school ID so you will prob just have to prove it somehow
  2. No, you receive a discount if you have a school email address and are currently enrolled in a school district. Try contacting Apple and ask them about your situation. Good Luck!
  3. The education discount is 10%. I got it myself by going to their website and selecting the school, but I never had to prove anything. That was two years ago, I don't know if that's changed - but maybe if you just choose your school district you'll be ok. As far as I know, to do it properly, there is no conventional way to do it with homeschooling, but Apple is a good company and I would imagine that if you talk to enough higher-ups at an apple store that something can be arranged. If it doesn't work at one store, you might want to try another, as not all people understand that homeschooling is in fact schooling.
  4. Ermm, I'm home schooled and don't get discounts on anything. Anyway, that isn't a reason to start home education, surely?
  5. Welll, if "being in school" is all you need to require it, just show them proof you are homeschooled. Most places with *school* discounts extend those same discounts to home educators.
  6. YES! I've purchased a total of three Mac over the past 2 1/2 years and received a 10% discount on all of them!
