Can I use the same Broadband connection on more than 2 PC's in one house?
I have a PC in my living room that is connected to BT Broadband, I am planning to buy another PC for my bedroom and would like to know the best/cheapest way to share the downstairs broadband connection.

- NETGEAR WIRELESS ROUTER.
- purchase a wireless router, linksys, and some usb wireless cards to connect to it. simple and very easy to configure on each system. don't forget to enable WEP.
- yes if you go wireless :D
- either a wireless or a wired router. the wired one is easier to set up, but you have to run a cat 5 wire upstairs
- router with a built in wireless access point. All you need to do is plug the broadband connection into the "WAN" port of the router/AP, then configure the other pc's in the house to associate to that AP. most router/ap combos will also come with a built in switch so you can keep one machine on the wired portion of the network while only putting the remote machine on the wireless.
- i also have a broad band connection.it is connected to two computer.....ill tell u one thing best way to connect to pcs is lan only use it its cheap and its speed is also good
- You may go to any Staples, CompUSA or other computer store and purchase a ROUTER. A router (there are several different brands) will usually allow you to connect 4 computers to the same network. Each of the 4 computers can visit 4 different websites all at the same time. Additionally, you can now "Network" those computers, i.e. you can type a document in the upstairs computer and after closing and saving the document, you can pull it up on the downstairs computer.
- any network router just set it up put your user name and password in it, and any computer can use the inernet at any time, aol is the only tricky one to setup, anyone else and you should be fine. :>
- use a router and ask your isp to provide you with something like that
- Replace your existing broadband 'modem' with a Wireless router, connected to your current PC via a lan cable or wireless and get a wireless lan card or USB dongle for the new PC and dont forget to turn on the encryption on the wireless connection or you will leave your network open for your neighbours etc to share (No reason why this should be limited to 2 machines, I have had 3 PCs and 2 Laptops connected to my home network). The other thing you can share over the network is your printers, so your new PC might not need its own printer
- the cheapest way is to install another network card into one of your computers and enable internet sharing on it and connect the other computer to this one ( the one with the internet in it) with a crossed cable. the other one is by using a router and i think everyone here is talking about it so u decide
