i have a compaq desktop computer and it will burn cd's/dvd/s but will not read a disk at all. any info?

ok my computer will write a cd/dvd but it will not read a single disk of any kind of cd/dvd/software at all it will write it perfect i have windows vista home on a Compaq desktop with a lightscibe dvd burner i put a disk in and it will freeze up until i eject the disk it sounds like its trying to read it but does nothing any info would be greatly appreciated if you need more info just ask and ill try my best to answer any questions i have never seen this on any computer i have had or seen thanks in advance

1. try reinstalling the drivers for it. since you are having problems with it reading try going to the companies sight to download the drivers. try this http://www.lightscribe.com/DownloadSection/windows/index.aspx hope it helps
2. Sounds like your drive is eighter not conected all the way or it needs to be replaced. Check all the connections and then try it. If it still does the same thing, replace it.
