hi i have a desktop compaq computer and my dad tried a fuse wire on the power supply it gave power to the fan.?

1. That is how you do it if you don't use it in a computer. If you short the correct wires, the thing will turn on without being in a computer. That is one quick way to test the thing too or use it for some other hobby.
