help please! i have a compaq presario desktop computer and it won't start up all the way!?
first the internet would have connection problems but i was connected to the internet so i tried a ststem restore and it worked for a couple days but stopped again...and it just kept getting worse and now when i try to turn it on it just goes through the start up screens over and over and never actually starts up! when i try to push f11 it says there is an error. any ideas on how to fix my computer???? any ideas are appreciated! when i say it won't start all the way i mean it just repeatedly goes through the windows xp loading screen then the compaq screen then the windows xp loading screen then the compaq screen and over and over. so i can't access anything... i don't have a floppy drive... i am pretty sure i don't anyway and how would i restore it to its factory state?? also i meant when i push f10(system recovery) and error shows. it's a black screen that says File /minit/system32/biosinfo.inf could not be loaded the error code is 18 setup cannot continue press any key to exit. then it just takes me through the startup screens again repeatedly

- You have not identified the OS (operating system). What this sounds like to me: You have Vista; there was an update pushed to the PC; the update didn't finish correctly so you have an Infinite reboot. If this is the case, and you computer has a floppy drive, try to boot to the command prompt and input this code, or save this code to a bat file. ___________________ rem this will stop inf loops rem in Windows Vista c: cd windows cd winsxs del pending.xml ___________________ Other then that, I will need more information to help you fix the issue.
- try restoring your computer to its factory state that should help it make sure you save you valuable files on a usb peace out
- when you say it refuses to start...do you mean it reaches the microsoft loading screen and stays there or it fails to post (black screen ,white writing). If it is reaching the microsoft loading screen and staying there then you need to reload windows. If it is not posting then try this. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aq_B564EC3FOK0tu17rl6_zty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090801060015AApCB6I&show=7#profile-info-b2e5d1008f141778f2b5ab5e99078f48aa hope this helps HI AGAIN. I have had similar problems to this before. If it is crashing during the xp loading screen then you either have a driver or a hardware problem. can you boot in safe mode.. go into the bios and disable the " on error restart" option at least this way you will get a bsod (blue screen) with the error messages, write these down. during boot press f8 for the options menu and boot in safe mode with networking. if it boots then uninstall the drivers for the components in your computer. download and re-install all the drivers for components in your computer. reboot. if the problem persists then follow the link given earlier as it is likely you have a hardware problem.
- Read it.might help. Everytime I start my computer I get a blue screen with: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press f8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.
