How can i ship my desktop computer from california to w virginia?

Can i just put a LOT stamps on it and call ups to pick it up??? of so about how many stamps?..its a compaq desktop with flat screen. IF i can not do that about how much will it be to pack and ship to virignia?

1. Take it to UPS. they will pack it and gaurantee it and ship it
2. Go the the ups.com website and find a UPS store someplace near by, then take your computer and whatever else you want to ship. They will pack it and send it. I would ask them to pack the CPU and the monitor in separate boxes. The cost will depend on the weight, the distance they are going and if you want slow ground shipping or fast air shipping. I recently sent a 12 pound box from upstate NY to Seattle and the cost was about $45 for ground (about 5-6 days), and $150 for 2nd day air (2 days). By the way - UPS does not accept payment in stamps, that would be the US Post Office. If you want to ship those items through the post office, you could go to www.usps.com to look it up. From CA to WV is probably a zone 8 shipment, and you need to know how much the box(es) will weigh after everything is packed.

4. Bring it to your local UPS or FedEx location. Do a web search to see who's closest to you. They're priced about the same. Bring everything you want packed up (computer, keyboard, cables, etc.) and they'll pack it up for you. They'll probably do a better job of it than you can... it's their job. My aunt sends me her pc about twice a year for a cleanup - from Florida to NY. I have her go to FedEx every time. Never had a problem and they pack it up great.
