Should I get a cheap analog tv tuner for my PC and hold off for two years before getting a $$$ digital one?

I am finishing up my home theater PC as spec'd below. I was going to use an old STB tuner card I had, but I can't get it to fully work under XP with the newer (or older) drivers. I am not sure if it is the card itself for just is no longer compatible. I am using this htpc to store my collection of dvds (converting to divx), storing mp3s, photos and play the occasional game and to record live tv. I know the spec's aren't great for gaming - I have another computer with a 7700 nvidia card in it that I normally game on. I know the digital switch over is less than two years away so I was researching atsc tuners (digital). I can't find much for less than 50 bucks. I am wondering if I am better off just getting the analog one now for under 20 and pick up a newer (probably better and cheaper) one in 2 years? 3.33 Celeron D (overclocked to 3.7) 512 MB Ram 2x250GB Hard Drives 128 MB ATI 9250 PCI-e Windows XP Wireless Keyboard and mouse 802.11g PCI adapter Cooler Master HTPC Ca

  1. spend the money, do it now, or you will regret the years of lost fun and excitement! have you tried http://pclinuxos.com as many older cards work great with it!
  2. Get the cheaper analog now. In a year or two, the HD programs will be better and cheaper. Just around the corner is 3D!, but way out of price ranges for the next few years and has a lot of bugs to work out.
