  1. i think that you need to try buying here at china! cause here u can bargain laptops, desktops, etc. at very affordable prices, try visiting www.IT168.com
  2. If you are in the US I would suggest www.craigslist.com I bought a PC tower off of there and it is great. I am typing on it right now. I produce audio tracks for voice-over work and guitar and electronic drum work. It works great. I can even burn disks while I surf the internet, play I-tunes, and record audio from my microphone interface. Look around for at least a couple of weeks for a used PC. Many people who have connections in the computer world sell good (but basic) towers for a good deal because they get discounts from their jobs (this is how I got my deal: an intel tech). I bought a video card, ungraded the RAM from 512 to 2500 and I have a great computer. RAM is not that expensive for DDR2 for do not worry about the RAM. Worry about making sure the motherboard takes DDR2 and the processor. If the case is new, then usually the internals are too. Usually these are the fancy blue glowing cases. Usually fancy is bad, but with custom computers, that fancy case and decent specs with good deal means a good computer. If you do not build it yourself, go used. If you buy a good basic model and make the upgrades yourself from newegg or ebay, you will get a great deal. Normally stay away from notebooks for audio production unless you have a HUGE budget for a computer.
  3. My friend have bad exprience with LG. You can buy HCl, HP or Lenovo computer. It is good to build your own computer. First buy your parts and Assemble them with the help of your friend who is expert in it or tell to your retailer to assemble it. Here are some suggestions for the own parts. 1> Motherboard: Intel Pentium 4, 3Ghz, 256RAM, 17inch CRT 2> Hard disk Brand : Sygate (I have bad exprience with Samsung) The cost of 160 GB is around 2600 INR in Mumbai. 3> Monitor : The monitors of View Sonic are best. 4> Graphics Card : nVidia Geforce 6200 or better. 5> CD DVD combo : LG or Sony 6> LAN Card : D-Link
