Alert! Previous thermal processor failure : thermal event, computer freezing, shutting off,and won't boot up!?

DETAILES OF PROBLEM -------------------------- Ok I"ve been haivng a problem with my computer lately. First of all, It started when my computer suddenly froze, So I turned it off( by holdin fown power button) Then when I turned it back on,it would load into the BIOs screen(DELL logo,w/ status bar) for about 3 secs. then it dies off without notice. Well recently, someone suggested to reinstall the battery (inside; form mother board). SO I removed it,and placed it back, turn the computer back on. It did all the IDE configuration thing....Then an Alert message came up, stating ALERT!|Previous thermal processor failure.(the first time I did this,it said thermal event/error,now it says this all the time I reinstall battery). Also, I checked the system event log(f12) and noticed, it said " CPUO TEMPERATURE" like 10 times.I think it also said CMOS Battery error, but I think that's from the reinstallation of the battery... SO anyways, I then proceeded into windows... I was able to log in (it didnt die yet) But then after about 5 minutes, It froze again(just like the very begining),but the computer didn't turn off,it just stayed frozen. I turned off the comp, turn It back on, and did the same thing(shutted off after 3 sec). SO basically It's a repeat. I can only boot up when I reinstall the battery.....but then It does the same thing again(freezes...) Hope more people hav suggestions!!!!HELP!!

  1. It sounds like a problem with your fan and heatsink. If I were you I'd change out that heatsink and fan. Give the CPU some TLC and clean off the old thermal paste with acetone and apply some good thermal paste and a new heatsink and fan.
  2. This is because of the computer’s registry. The registry is a very complex and often misunderstood component of Windows. It’s vital to your computer’s operation. Think of the registry as your computer’s brain. And everything you do on the computer, everything you install or remove, is stored in the brain. When you remove things, very often certain registry entries are left behind, like memories. But these memories are good for absolutely nothing. The registry hangs on to them, though, and eventually it gets so full that it’s hard to find things that are important now. The registry is probably the culprit if your computer freezes randomly.Consequently, one of the best solutions in managing the situation is to use registry cleaning tools http://make-computer-run-smoothly.com with great power and capacity to completely flush out all junk files and fix all errors found.
