Modern Warfare 2-PC controller usable?

I bought a relatively cheap PC controller mainly for playing on emulators, although I'd like to know whether or not PC controllers work with MW2 (PC version). It's a cheap replica of a PS2 controller (it's works well even though it's cheap), and I'm wondering if/how I could use it as a MW2 controller. P.S. I have already tried to set controls using the PC controller.
