Desktop Computer Packages

I have just bought a desktop computer from a car boot sale but cannot use it because it is password protected?

It has windows xp professional installed and when you start it up it asks for username and password but as i had this from a car boot ive virtually no chance of getting the username and password needed to start it up. Is there any way of overiding this so that i can use it, thanks in advance.

  1. Sounds like it was stolen, first of all. You might want to turn it in to the police? If not, you'll need a new XP or other operating system disk. Just reinstall the operating system.
  2. thats why you dont buy it from a car boot sale
  3. iNSTALL lINUX ON IT INSTEAD.
  4. In XP you can start up in safe mode (F8) log in as administrator, no password necessary. Go to control panel - users - remove the password - restart as normal.
