Find your local tafe and ask about Certificate 3 or 4 in Computer Sciences. It may be refered to just as I.T. Whatever you find, check the course outcome - ie: what you will learn. And check that it similar to what you feel would get you the kind of work you desire. Courses are many and varied. You will know the right one when you see it, and you will see it at your local tafe. 9 months for a Cert 4 in I.T. And about $10,000, but I guess this depends on your location, situation and what institute you learn through.
Quick path is to get A+ certified. Google Comptia A+ certification. Education is good, but experience is better.
