Offered a job today at a place where I would inspect computer hardware parts. How much would I need to know?
I'm not super computer savvy, but I definitely know a decent amount...but this job seems like I would need to know a lot? Would they at least train me a little? Anyone on here have this type of job?

- Well you would at least be able to identify the components in computers. Motherboards, RAM types, IDE or SATA drives and their corresponding part on the Motherboard. CPU's & Heatsinks & how to remove them. I would imagine you would need to be able to build a PC with your eyes closed (not literally, but you know what I mean). Chances are the training would only be company specific or for specialized hardware. You might need to know what RAM type goes with what motherboards & CPU's. It's hard to say what they might require. I employ 10 people to fix computers & in my business I could not afford to have someone who didn't know that if a FSB is 800MHz then you're going to need RAM that supports this. If they couldn't pick the right RAM out of a box of about 100 (all different) I wouldn't employ them.
