How to active the internet wifi connection for a laptop computer IBM

When I open the menu connections there is no place for option of wifi connection ; so I suppose that it has been disactivated from the computer because the computer has been reinstalled So give me suggestions

1. Check the wifi adaptor device is working - Click start Right click my computer Click the hardware tab Click device manager button See if your device is intalled If it i check there is not a red or yellow symbol next to it If it is not n the list or has a symbol then you need drivers
