my ibm thinkpad laptop has no sound?
I have a ibm thinkpad laptop computer that has no sound...no matter what i do just no sound...ive tried troubleshooting and the whole 9 yards with no luck....it used to have sound but not anymore....am i over looking something????any suggestions???? thanks for the help....peace PS...there is a very very fine hint of some beeps coming from the speakers....but its so faint i almost think its my imagination haha....ok, please help if you can...thanks

- Please reinstall the soundcard in the device manager and install it in control panel under hardware again. Install the driver as well and it should be fine. Good luck.
- see if maybe you have it on mute. It happends.
- the faint beeps my be coming from the beeper not your speakers. Try re-installing the drivers/firmware for the speakers, contacting IBM customer support if necessary. Also, make sure there aren't any loose/not connected cables.
- IBM thinkpads have keys on the keyboard to turn the volume up and down. It is usually a combination of holding one key and pressing the other. Like shift and the key for vol up or down. It has been a while since I have messed with one so I don't know the exact keys. Look closely at the keyboard. I think it may be written in blue?? Good luck. Hope this helps.
- You press down Fn (bottom left) and the little black sound buttons (top left) usually. I have the same problem but its been since my husband reinstalled windows and got rid of all the IBM support stuff - ARRRGGGHH!
