  1. IBM is thet company that makes your laptop it stands for (international business machines) thinkpad t30 is the model of the laptop. 1.8 ghz is the speed of the processor p4 stands for pentium 4 which is the model of the processor. and wifi means that its has wireless technology built in or comes with a wireless card to connect to any networks in range. all in all its not that bad of a laptop. no major gaming or anything but good for internet and emailing use. hope i could help.
  2. The ThinkPad is a notebook computer. It has both the eraser-head like pointing device and the touchpad style mouse. As far as the general information you have: 1.8 GHz is the processor speed. That is sufficient enough for general use, internet/email, and photos/ music. P4 stands for Pentium 4. That does not note the speed, just the technology level driving it. WiFi means wireless networking. You can wirelessly connect your notebook to the internet at your favorite "hot spots" (restaurants and such with wireless networks), or at home (if you have a wireless router installed to your high speed internet. Other info: Runs Windows XP Professional 256MB RAM (you need more for gaming or Windows Vista) DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive (you can write cd's, not DVD's; but you can watch them) Those are the most important features. Also it has a 14.1 inch screen and ways 6.7 pounds. That's about average weight, but a relatively small screen. My conclusion: it's a nice small notebook to carry around for class and such. Great for email and internet, but not a heavy duty pc. Enjoy!
