What is a good reliable laptop computer? mainly for word processing & net surfing?
I mainly want it for uni work ie. typing up assignments and general web browsing. I have been impressed with my mums IBM T41, do the Lenovo T61's or R51's have the same reliable performance? I also had a quick look at a HP 6720s, any thoughts on that laptop. Any help will be greatly appreciated !

- I am a big fan of HP laptops. I think they make a really nice quality and durable product. The main consideration you should have when choosing a laptop PC is what hardware it comes with. I would suggest minimum 2 GB of RAM, 200 GB hard drive (HDD), AMD Athlon X-2 or Pentium Core 2 Duo processor. Almost all laptop PCs on the market now will come with wireless cards (for internet access) and DVD/CD burners. I am not quite as big of a fan of Gateway, but that particular laptop is a very fast, very reliable machine. EDIT I almost forgot to address your Lenovo question. Yes, the Lenovo laptops are very reliable, just like the IBMs. They are manufactured with the same care and quality of the IBMs before them.
