Desktop Computer Packages

How do you get rid of Vista off a new PC?

My husband bought a new desktop computer about a month or so ago. At first Vista seemed ok, but now we are having all kinds of problems with it. He can't print because Vista is incompatible with our printer, funny because both the computer and the pc are hp. He just got a video camera with a hard drive in it. We can save the images to his computer but when he went to install a new video editing package on the computer Vista kicked it out. He's sick of it and wants to delete Vista from the computer and go to Xp. But he is having all kinds of issues with it. Help! I am sick of listening to the cussing because the computer won't do what he wants it to. And he is a trained computer tech, so he's not computer illiterate or anything. But his frustration is getting to me. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Also any links to any advice would be nice.

  1. Your best bet, would be to save anything you want to keep, burn it to DVD (pictures, documents, etc.). Then completely re-format and re-install XP. It is the longest, and you will have to set everything up again, but since he's a computer tech he should be able to do it with ease. It will give you the best running computer in the end.
  2. It will be easy if you have a windows XP cd in your possession. All you need to do is put xp disk in cd drive. Restart the computer, the computer will display a message to press any key to boot from cd, and after pressing any key will start the installation process, after that eall that is needed is clicking a few buttons onscreen to proceed. http://mypchelp.blogspot.com/2006/10/windows-reinstallation.html
